Chris Mueller

He/Him

Chris is the chairman of the board and founder of SofaBurn Inc.  He has been a musician for over 30 years and is also the founder of SofaBurn, an independent record label based in Northern Kentucky.  He is a social worker by trade and has his master’s degree in social work.  In addition to running the record label for over 16 years, Chris has worked for several nonprofit organizations in the Greater Cincinnati Area, most recently as the director of the Brighton Family Center, an organization that works toward helping people achieve self-sufficiency through counseling, food and clothing support, and wrap around services.  He continues to serve on multiple boards in the nonprofit world. Chris’s personal philosophy is a belief that any healthy business plan should include a strong emphasis on helping the community.

In 2020 Chris and the staff at SofaBurn saw a need for artists struggling to afford health care costs who were kept from touring and promoting their art due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  It was during this time that SofaBurn Inc was officially formed, and the board of trustees was assembled.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Megan and two young daughters as well as taking his dog Stanley for long walks. He is active in the addiction recovery community and plays drums every chance he gets.

Lynn Baker

She/Her

Lynn brings years of health care/insurance experience to SBI. Her 15+ years at Humana has made her a pro at navigating the complexity of medical claims. In her day job, she also leads the Humana’s LGBTQ+ organization which works to address the unique needs of the company’s queer employees and customers.

Lynn’s experienced the shocking cost of care when her twins required advanced care and when her musician husband developed a rare disease that required travel for treatment.

When she has free time, Lynn loves to read and travel. Her last big trip was to Malaysia and she hopes her next trip will be Peru or Morocco.

Adam Nurre

He/Him

Adam Nurre (www.linktr.ee/adamnurre) is a freelance musician, composer, and educator currently based in upstate NY. Adam has toured throughout the US, Canada, and Europe with songwriters Jeremy Pinnell, David Ramirez, and Carson McHone, among many others. In addition to his experience as a performer, Adam also keeps a full roster of music students, and works as a composer and arranger, offering bespoke music production for studio sessions, commercials, podcasts, and film.

In 2016, Adam was the lone survivor of a fatal bus crash while on tour, and during his recovery was shown life-saving generosity and assistance from the national music community and organizations like Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, the SIMS foundation, and MusiCares. This outpouring of support led to a deep desire to give back by helping other artists in need, and Adam is grateful for the opportunity to do so with SofaBurn Inc.
